Attention 8th Grade Girls Choir Parents and Guardians!

Dear 8^th Grade Girls Choir Parents and Guardians,

            This letter is concerning the East Tennessee Vocal Association (ETVA) Festival which is approaching quickly. This is a choral festival where the choir will perform for two judges and be rated from 1- 5 on how well they performed with 1 being the highest and 5 being the lowest.   We will be taking a school bus to Knoxville April 3^rd or 4th.  This will be an all day field trip.  The attire for this event will be…

-White, button up, long sleeve blouse

-Black or skin toned socks/stockings/leggings/pantyhose

-Black, flat dress shoes (no heel bigger than ½ inch.)

-Black dress pants and SOLID black belt if the pants have loops.

-Simple silver necklaces are appropriate

-Earrings- only simple, studs are acceptable. 

-No extravagant hair clips

            Parents, be sure your child has this clothing by April 3^rd.  We simply wanted to give you a “heads up” about this in plenty of time for you to get these together.  Thank you for your support and all you do to make your child’s experience the best it can be!

URGET ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT AND CHANGE!!!

The date of the choir concert has been changed from Tuesday, December 10th to Thursday December 12th.  The time and place have NOT changed.  The concert will be Thursday, December 12th at the Lee University Conn Center @ 7:00 pm.  Students still need to arrive at 6:45 as mentioned in letters home, blog updates, call outs, web site, and booster meetings. 

We are sorry for this inconvience, it is out of our hands.  Lee University double booked us, promising we would have this date, and we just became of aware of this situation.  Again, we apologize for the inconvience.  If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail Ms. McPherson and Mr. Tapke.  Thank you. 

Christmas Info!

Merry Christmas!! Here are a few things we would like to update you on.  

1.  The Christmas rhearsal day is on December 9th during the school day.  Please be sure that your child attends school this day.  

2.  The Christmas concert will be December 10th at 7:00 in the Lee Univesity Conn Center.  Students will need to be in their assigned seats at 6:45.  The attire for concert is the following--

All students will need to wear black dress shoes, black socks, black dress pants, and a black belt.  

8th Graders- Red Polo shirt
7th Graders- Christmas Green Polo shirt
6th Graders- Red, Christmas Green, Athletic Gold, or White Polo.  

3.  On December 11th, we will be having choir pictures during your child's choir class.  Please be sure your child is wearing their choir outfit during school that day.  

4.  Choir fruit delivery day will be Friday, December 13th.  Fruit pick-up times will be 12-7 pm.  Please be sure to pick up your child's fruit orders at that time and delivery promptly.

FRUIT SALE KICK-OFF DAY!!!

Parents and Guardians!  

The day has come!  The fruit sale has begun!  Your child has been given information on the fruit sale, order forms, and an envelope to put orders and money in.  Please be on the lookout for this information!  If you have any questions regarding it... please feel free to ask!

Reminders!

Choir Parents and Guardians--

Just a few reminders for this shortened week.

1.  Please be sure to have your Booster Membership form and money turned in by the end of this school week, Thursday, October 31st.  This is the absolute last day to get this turned in.  Make sure that your child has secured a booster form for you to fill out.  Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions.  

2.  Our next booster meeting will be on Monday, November 4th in the OMS Choir room @ 7:00 pm.  We look forward to seeing you there! 

3.  The annual fruit sale for the choir will begin on Tuesday, November 5th.  Please be on the lookout and be asking for your child's fundraising materials.  We will be selling a variety of citrus fruits like we have in the past, including navel oranges, juice oranges, grapefruit, and tangelos.  More info to come soon!  

4.  Please be sure that your child has the required attire for the Christmas Concert--

All students-- Black dress pants, black dress shoes, black socks, and black belt. 

8th Grade- Red Polo shirt
7th Grade- Christmas Green Polo shirt
6th Grade- Red, Christmas Green, White, or OMS Gold Polo shirts.

Dear Choir Parents-

Just a couple of updates. 

1. We had a choir booster meeting on September 24th.  Lots of important choir business was discussed.  Again, we encourage all go our parents to be involved.  Our next meeting is Monday, November 4th at 7:00 pm in the OMS choir room.  See you all then!

2.  We are now accepting Membership to the OMS Choir Boosters.  The membership cost is $10.  This will grant voting rights and price lagers at all meetings and free admission to our concerts.  The concert admission is a great savings for families at the concert.  The membership covers a household.  So grand parents, aunts and uncles, or family friends may purchase a membership as well tosa e money.  

Forms have been sent home with your child.  Please have your child return the form and money by November 1st. All checks are to be made out to OMS Choir Boosters.

Parent Update

Parents- 

Three things-

1.  Choir shirt orders have been sent home as of yesterday.  They are blue and gold and will cost $13. These are one of the most unique shirts that we have ordered.  Please be sure to get your child's money and order forms in by Friday, September 13th.  Your child will be able to wear these on Friday's.  If you have any questions-- feel free to e-mail us!  

2.  6th grade parents-- your child will be singing at the first PTO Meeting on Tuesday, September 24th.  Your child will need to be in the choir room at 6:00 pm to prepare.  We look forward to seeing you all!  

3.  Last but not least-- we have an OMS choir booster meeting on September 24th at 7:15 pm in the choir room.  There will be very important business discussed.  This will occur right after the PTO meeting.  We look forward to seeing you there as well!
